Purpose: To assure that due process is afforded all members of the State Association through adherence to the procedures outlined in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Missouri Supplement thereto. The Forum shall provide training and guidance to members and member boards in grievance, ethics, arbitration and mediation procedures but shall not offer interpretations. Interpretation of the Code of Ethics is reserved exclusively to the National Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee. The Forum shall also provide oversight for the Statewide Professional Standards process described in Policy 209.
- Grievance Committee: Initially reviews complaints received to determine if any possible violation has occurred or if the matter is arbitrable. Meetings are held via teleconference. Composition: no less than twenty-five (25) members, appointed by the President who meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the Statewide Professional Standards Procedures Manual. There will not be a term limit.
- Arbitration Committee: Hearing panels listen to testimony of the parties to determine which side is entitled to the money in dispute. Members would have to travel to hearings. Must have previous experience on MAR Grievance Committee. Composition: no less than twenty-five (25) members, appointed by the President who meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the State- wide Professional Standards Procedures Manual. There will not be a term limit.
- Professional Standards Committee: Hearing panels listen to testimony from both parties to ethics complaints and determine from evidence presented whether violations of the Code of Ethics have taken place and if so, recommend appropriate disciplinary actions. Members would have to travel to hearings. Must have previous experience on MAR Grievance Committee. Composition: no less than twenty-five (25) members, appointed by the President who meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the Statewide Professional Standards Procedures Manual. Members will be required to have served on the State Association Grievance Committee. There will not be a term limit.
- Mediation Committee: This committee will be comprised of members, no less than ten (10), appointed by the President. Members shall be experienced in mediation services.
