Diversity Awareness

Purpose: To identify and address the concerns and needs of members, and to assist in the development of activities to increase diversity within the real estate profession, promote changes in real estate business practices to reflect growing cultural diversity and share diversity knowledge, expertise, analysis and information by serving as ambassadors.

Mission: The mission of the Diversity Awareness Committee of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® is to promote diversity within our profession, to advocate for fair and equal access to housing for all, and to inform and educate our membership about the value of diversity and our responsibilities under fair housing laws.

Definition: We respect the value of the individual. We recognize a wide spectrum of characteristics including race, color, sex, familial status, handicap (disability), religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, language, socio-economic circumstances, education, life experiences, and all other human differences contribute to uniqueness. We know that valuing diversity makes good business sense and helps to ensure our future success.

Composition: Minimum of one per district; staggered 3-year terms.
